Giselle Halimi Digital Space in Mason District is hosting an open house on Tuesday 17 May from 9am to 5pm.
This space, temporarily installed on the ground floor of the building where the entire site installation work is pending, allows France Services Digital Advisors to support the residents of the district individually and from now on in their dematerialized manner. Digital hands-on workshops are also organized so that residents can acquire new skills and become more independent in their approach and access to digital technology.
Metropolis, in its argument for social cohesion, has set a goal to fight digital divisions. One of the reasons for the exclusion of dematerialisation of public services and day-to-day procedures. There are many reasons for exclusion: financial means to equip oneself, language barrier, illiteracy, social fragility situation …
The Gisèle HALIMI site in downtown Mosson is a new 3000m² multi-service public facility open to district residents and actors and aims to establish a new multidimensional service offer combining actors (MLJ3M, CCAS, CPAM, BIC …) and social, Initiatives around civic, economic and cultural inclusion. Gisèle Halimi The temporary digital space has 5 computer stations and a 3D printer. It is run by a digital advisory France service (CNFS), labeled Aidant Connect, who welcomes, informs and stays with the public in their administrative way (CAF, CPAM, Tam, etc.) for access to online rights and practices in daily life.
Combined digital mediation workshops will also be offered such as:
- Different environments / Digital tools invented: 3D printers, programmable cards, tablets, smartphones and computers
- An Introduction to Basic Digital Knowledge: Web Browsing, Application Installation, Email Management, Documentation on Word Processing Software
- Integrated Coffee Workshop: Debates on data security, false information awareness, digital identity and reputation.
From 2023, a shared digital space will be established between the Montpellier metropolis, CCAS and the local youth mission to accommodate 25 separate information stations, as well as places for collaborative workshops. The digital inclusion offer will be coordinated by Métropole de Montpellier related to actors from the Mosson district.

Focus on the Mosson district which is the subject of a major urban renovation project through ANRU
Mason is located in the district center and the metropolis of Montpellier. It is the subject of a major urban renewal project aimed at improving the living environment of the residents, maintaining the balance of the city and restoring the district’s attractiveness, access to employment, quality of business or success of children in public schools.
In January 2022, Montpellier Mayor Michael Delafosse, president of the Montpellier Mediterranean metropolis, went with the National Agency for Urban Renewal (ANRU) to integrate the transformation of the St. Paul sector into a project amplification program, the newly degraded condominium. New school groups and new interventions in big malls. Approximately 50 50 million in additional funding was received from ANRU and ActionLogment for this new program (220 million euros in total for the work), 63.1 million euros already allocated by ANRU and 25.8 million euros in ActionLogment for the initial project (320 million euros work plan). .
One of the main objectives of the project is to create actors for residents and district stakeholders for the transformation of the district, in close association with the new strategy of democratic renewal performed by the city of Montpellier.
