Inter-Generation Micro-Nursery: An Innovative Way to Reconnect Generations

Wednesday 1Of In June 2022, a Tom & Josette intergenerational crচche will open in the 120 m² building adjacent to the Espace & Vie Senior Services residence in Brest, in the district of Recouvrance. This proximity will allow residents and children to spend time together regularly, in small groups, in one or the other structure. After Renaissance, Albie and Montusan, Tom and Joset, the first network of intergenerational micro-nurseries will therefore open its fourth structure with Senior Residence Space and V Breast Recurrence.

Twelve children, 2.5 months to 3 years old, will be welcomed to a safe place, supervised by early childhood professionals. Inspired by Montessori, the goal of this structure is to make children as independent as possible. The opening of these micro-nurseries responds to a dual mission: to grow older and grow better. In fact, several times a week, children and residents will be able to meet together to enjoy simple and ritual activities: storytelling, gardening, creative activities, shared meals … ” We make sure that intergenerational bonds are essential to avoid any isolation and to help young children grow up in a healthy, intelligent, and fun way. Thanks to our crche, we want to connect all generations to offer a fulfilling educational environment for the little ones! 8, Pauline Faivre and Astrid Parmentier, founder of Tom & Josette.

Espace & Vie Accommodation: Promoting Living Together

Since its inception in 2006, the Espace & Vie Group has always placed social and intergenerational relationships at the center of its support projects for seniors. On a daily basis, superior residences offer residents activities that promote encounter and sharing. Many of them also set up inter-generational initiatives to revive the social life of the residents. These meetings are always eagerly awaited by seniors, but also children. These shared times are an opportunity to exchange joy and good humor.

At Espace & Vie Brest Recouvrance, solidarity between young and old is part of our DNA. The opening of Tom & Joset Micro-Nursery and the signing of this partnership agreement is therefore another step in the history of living. Thierry Revol, director of housing for 8 years, regularly organizes collaborative spaces and shares joyful moments, inviting children from neighboring schools or extracurricular centers, including his team.

For the little ones, these projects take the form of fun or educational activities such as reading, manual activities, singing and meeting … Their daily life is sweet.

LAMOTTE: Yes, social and intergenerational initiative!

Sustainable building means connecting areas and promoting exchanges between residents. It is in this context that LAMOTTE is proud to sign a partnership with Espace & Vie Group and the micro-nursery Tom & Joset Network.

At LAMOTTE, we multiply the emergence of social enterprise and the interaction of solidarity that develops lasting connections among all residents. For Tom & Josette, opening the door to Espace & Vie Brest Recouvrance accommodation and setting up a micro-nursery on the ground floor means creating social bonds between generations for the benefit of good aging and good growth.

The Lamotte Group is pleased to welcome the first Tom & Josette crèche, a collaboration that will soon call for others in our senior service quarters. In the future, we will certainly find new topics in intergenerational partnerships. »Jean-Maurice Lam, Director of the Residential Department জন্য Directed for Lamot
