Through the lens of Luca Guadagnino

Quiet and mysterious, the two sets imagined by Luca Guadagnino respond to each other.

Quiet and mysterious, the two sets imagined by Luca Guadagnino respond to each other.

More discreet about his activities as an interior designer than as a director, Luca Guadagnino founded his famous studio five years ago. For Milan Design Week 2022, within the walls of its longtime partner, Spazio RT, Palermotaine has staged two sets, including the creation of its furniture (two seats edited by Gavina Italy, a light fixture by Fontanaart, two rags from the manufacturer Cogolin and two follies). As well as selected objects, contemporary or wine.

These two places, though distinct, Share the same very cinematic universe, topped with thick curtains and woodwork, as if symbolizing a screen frame. Similarly, places are not visible from the outside, so you have to pick up your ticket to attend your private session … – FLG

Butterflies of Lucia Ames appear on walls and cascades. Emes family

The building through Sulferino, 11 This year again Milan is hosting this edition of Design Week 2022. If the crowd Dimorestudio (see below), upstairs, two exhibits can also be seen.

So we had an appointment with Lucia Ames (1930-2014). Charles’s daughter and Roy’s daughter-in-law saw themselves dedicating a posthumous single for the first time in Europe. Far from the work of his distinguished parents, we discovered works of art and installation consistent with the title of the exhibition: See with heart. It is with great poetry and sensitivity that his family, backed by the form portfolio, has staged nearly half a century of creation. Thus, paper butterflies, openwork metal furniture and archives of its preparatory work decorated the exhibition in a bright and colorful environment. -FLG

The brand’s ceramics offer a dreamlike setting about H + O

The opposite door to the world of minimal and intelligent H + O labels has opened. Specializing in ceramic tiles, the studio has, for the second time, invited a handful of hand-picked brands to take their fleeting gallery in Milan.

So, the furniture of Carl Emil Jacobsen, Catherine Robin Davidson or Renato Messina dressed in this 18th century apartment. Millions? Translating the vision of founders Alyssa Osino and Josephine Aquama Hofmeyer, an interior where nature and man enter into a lasting connection and where technology and furniture redefine a particular art of living. Interesting and … inspiring! -FLG

You had to wait a few minutes before entering In this dark apartment in Milan’s Solferino. Behind the closed shutters, various rooms covered in fog created the illusion of discovering a long abandoned house. As Dimoremilano Studio exhibits described “forgot”,

At the root of the installation, Brit Moran and Emiliano Salsi have hit it hard by designing all the furniture, textiles and lighting. From leather through brass to steel, materials embrace the patina of time. We especially like Regionalista chairs and lantern ceiling lights made of metal and paper. – HR

In the middle of a room dressed in pink, Bright sculptures of chromed and varnish metals were all the focus and were not associated with the multimedia installation for the first time. Only the reflection of the mirror has played a role in causing problems here. – HR

This giant disco ball represents a student’s first apartment, where he will host his first party … or pajama party! IKA

IKEA is definitely not the thing by half. To the south of the town, near Tortona, the famous, hangout of designers, the Älmhult firm has relocated to former warehouses that have become BASE, an innovative space of more than 12,000 m2, dedicated to creation. In this week’s program of the Swedish festival: music, gastronomy and, of course, many installations highlighting brand new products and bestsellers at IKEA.

Thus, the “first couple’s apartment” comes to life poetically In the camouflage of a structure made of cardboard under which a common carpet and a serving tray are installed. The intelligence? A symbol of a couple’s impatience when organizing their first evening, even before opening their boxes.
