RUR The Rise of the Robot

About comics

Isolated on an island, the RUR factory has begun work on making artificial humans. Like Android, this powerful and all-feeling “robot” is supposed to finally free people from work! A dream for the director, a gruesome event for Helena who discovers these animals with fear while inspecting the production line. Annoyed by their human appearance, this young lady has a bad feeling. Are robots as sensitive as we think?

Ignorant about love, ignorant about death, fatigue or boredom, yet they feel pain after a new programming! Impenetrable, yet they continue to blindly obey … Years pass and Helena’s worries continue as society becomes accustomed to robots.

It has become essential, their number is increasing. But will they remain dull for a long time? Do they feel emotion, passion, hatred? As an unexpected and brutal robot revolt unfolds, their manufacturers are trapped in their own factories. Is humanity facing a new era of robots in its last days?

Whatever we think

This comic presents us with the revolt of the machine in a truly magnificent graphic style. But it’s for me, especially the color that is the main quality of the title.
The color palette used here is amazing. The story is heartbreaking. In a society where technology is increasingly present, the story told here seems almost admirable in the near future. A read that I recommend without hesitation!

Rev.

About comics

In the indefinite future, a virtual world is created by the dream of its users: ReV. Gladis, an apprentice, decided to try this unique new video game From his first game, he met Mr_iO, an experienced player who offered to accompany him on his journey. Gladys takes over … and we’re going for her first run at the Revue!

From the depths of a dark and mysterious forest to the oppressive corridors of a timeless hotel, he will live a strange and allegorical Odyssey and learn to extricate himself from the sometimes difficult, often boring situation. For her, Mr_iO is a good guide and does not affect the experience of Gladys, her motives are quite different … but who knows where our heroine’s journey will take them?

Whatever we think

I was amazed at the quality of the graphic and script of this book. What a pleasure to read it and browse it to dive into this strange universe of virtual reality.

Whether it’s the choice of color or the design of the character, I’ve absolutely won. A true dream-like story, we don’t really know where we’re going but the journey we’ve been given is incredible. In my opinion from a cover of Nugget 2022 where I won.

Waco horror

About comics

In 1916, in a staunchly separatist America, Elizabeth Freeman was an enterprising voter known for her media rhetoric and her commitment to women’s rights. Equally militant, his friend, African-American sociologist WEB du Bois, who fights for civil rights and equality, is concerned about the disturbing disappearance of teenager Jesse, who worked in a cotton field in Waco, Texas.

After the sheriff is interrogated for a murder case, he appears to have disappeared into the wild. Du Bois suggested that Elizabeth go to Texas to conduct her investigation prudently. Pretending to be a conference, he is warmly welcomed into a state that wants to be progressive.

Jesse Washington? Yes, we know him: the murder of a woman took him back to prison … but still? One thing leads to another, Elizabeth discovers photographs of the tragic fate of this man as well as the horrors: details of the torture she endured during her beating and distributed to the city in the form of postcards! Soon, curiosity about the right to vote raises suspicions among Waco residents who are determined to keep their terrible privacy in the shadows.

Whatever we think

Based on the Waco tragedy, we sink into the heart of a particularly racist and sexist America.

It all starts with a public lynching in the south of the United States that will bring a young investigator to light to put an end to the practice. This adventure of the early 20’s is at the end of a very long interview with the authors of the book to develop and explain multiple points and information related to the improbable and still very real story.e Century

An important reading to remember is that some rights won in the affliction and especially in the United States, racism has done and done a lot of damage.

Foreign highways

About comics

Sarafian, a former racing driver who knew the glory, was literally recycled without leaving the car … He now runs a small garage in Miami. When he falls Accidentally at Stacey, he leads a peaceful existence and lives a strange job. Full of sympathy for this young woman of strong character, who also has no license, he hires her to help his team. But Stacey quickly realizes that the garage’s activities are not limited to mechanics… it also serves as a traffic front for Cuban-American mafias. Especially on behalf of a terrorist organization that carried out attacks against the Castro government!

In the midst of amazing visits from the terrifying Godfather, the little thugs and the whimsical temperament of the branded gun at any cost, Stacey tries to stay in her place. The problem really started the day Sarafian had to take the wheel to deliver the Greenback suitcases to their destination and he felt compelled to go with him. Riding in the car, with his injured old boss and a trunk full of bundles, Stacey has to improve during a frantic rush to the Key West on the legendary Overseas Highway.

Whatever we think

The story begins at full speed in the heart of a hurry we don’t know the ins or outs of. After a few pages a flashback is made of who the characters are and how we got there.

The style of the comic strip is particularly cinematic and one can imagine being in an action movie in a car with Stacey. We will focus on the main characters presented who seem to be lost or gone and yet who want us to hear and discover their stories. A very enjoyable reading and a very good discovery.

Space connection T1

About comics

The Space Connection project brings together new “punches” under a common theme: Extraterrestrial Encounters! Will humanity be shattered by a deadly plague, a nuclear plague, or the drying up of natural resources? Or, conversely, will the advancement of science lead us to perfection? Will we live under a common totalitarian regime, or will men finally discover the key to global sexuality?

Whatever we think

This first of two pieces contains 4 stories, often filled with humor with various interpretations of extra-terrestrial encounters.
The last story titled “Epidemic” is particularly relevant to our present time and should make you laugh.
Excellent drawing, beautiful colors and quick and easy reading make this little ethnographic comic a personal recommendation.
